St. Lawrence North is a 6500m2 multi-use facility in downtown Toronto’s historic core. The primary function of the building is display space promoting Toronto culture, with new public spaces and expanded market areas.

The design was developed to preserve the character of the neighborhood and still deliver a contemporary design with dynamic spaces. A continuous skin around the administrative program creates a tension that juxtaposes the new and the existing context. Primary circulation leads visitors through each level of exhibit space. These corridors are oriented to create unique visual connections with the city, including Old City Hall, St. James Park and the nearby Financial District. St. Lawrence North effectively becomes a lens through which the city is revealed.
